If there is one salad that is popular in our home it’s coleslaw. Growing up my parents run a catering business. They had a chef called Ivuti who made amazing food and taught me quite a bit of what I know now. Now Ivuti made Really good coleslaw that my brother Nyaga loved. But Ivuti could not for the life of him pronounce Coleslaw.  He always said Coneslaw.

At that time Nyaga was around 5 or 6 years. That age when kids are super impressionable. When all they believe is “teacher” nothing mum can know. How can she know? Teacher is always right. LOL. Now there was no teaching Nyaga that it was coleslaw and not coneslaw. I tried and tried for years. I think he finally got over it in high school. Yap 10 years later.

What makes this coleslaw amazing is the addition of orange juice and some sugar. Takes this salad from ordinary to extra fantamagorgeous ordinary.  i bet you your family will love it.

Happy eating!
